Like rain

It rained here today. I know the "earth" needs it, I'm sure. I guess I am just not used to it, since it's so nice here or it's because I don't like rain that much, but it does not make for a good Monday. Unless...

Unless you picture the rain as God's grace pouring down. That's what I have to do. And in that case, I want more, I need more. 

No, I don't like rain that much, but grace like rain...
 

And the truth found in the Word...

"But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works;

otherwise grace would no longer be grace."

~Romans 11:6

"Rain in abundance, O God, you shed abroad;
you restored your inheritance as it languished;"

~Psalm 68:9

 

"Be glad, O children of Zion,

and rejoice in the Lord your God,

for he has given the early rain for your vindication;
he has poured down for you abundant rain,

the early and the latter rain, as before."

~Joel 2:23

 

"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith,

we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we

stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God."

~Romans 5:1,2 

 

Jesus, I rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Thank You that it is no longer on the basis of works. But by grace. Grace my fears relieved. Hallelujah, grace like rain pours down on me...
