Encouragement from FF

Lord, how grateful I am for my Faithful Five women and their encouraging words this week:

Listen and be still. The Lord has so much to say if we would just be still in His presence. Listen in new ways. Find new ways of being still before the Lord. Wait in expectation. He is the God who sees you. He knows your needs before you ask Him. Let Him lead you beside still waters. Let His peace flood your soul. Let your soul drink deeply from His Living Water. Rest. No struggling, no striving, just relax into His embrace.

"I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in Him."
~Psalm 40:1-3

Since God lifted you up out of the slimy pit of hell in which you were destined, how much more can he lift you out of in this present life? He can triumph over any adversity this world brings upon you because he has already won the most important battle of all.

"For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem;
you shall weep no more.
He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry.
As soon as he hears it, he answers you."
~Isaiah 30:19

Make Me your focal point as you move through this day. Just as a spinning ballerina must keep returning her eyes to a given point to maintain her balance, so you must keep returning your focus to Me. Circumstances are in flux, and the world seems to be whirling around you. The only way to keep your balance is to fix your eyes on Me, the One who never changes. If you gaze too long at your circumstances, you will become dizzy and confused. Look to Me, refreshing yourself in My Presence, and your steps will be steady and sure.

"...looking to Jesus,
the founder and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before him
endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God."
~Hebrews 12:2

"Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely,
and may your whole spirit and body be kept blameless
at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it."
~1Thessalonians 5:23,24
